Cookies, Bars & Candy

IMPERIAL COOKIES 
Laura Campbell, Teulon, MB

1 cup softened butter tsp almond extract
1 cup softened margarine 2 eggs, well beaten
1 cup sugar 5 cups flour
Beat together first four ingredients, then add beaten eggs. Mix in flour 1 cup at a time. You may have to add a little water to make a fairly soft cookie dough. Roll out fairly thinly and bake for 10-12 minutes, until a light cream colour. Put 2 cookies together with raspberry jam. Ice and decorate as you wish: silver ball, piece of walnut, piece of cherry, etc. Bake at 350 . This dough freezes well.
