CINNAMON COFFEE CAKE 
Marlene Taylor, Kirkfield Park United, Winnipeg, MB

1/2 cup margarine 2 cups flour
1 cup sugar 1 tsp soda
2 eggs 1 tsp baking powder
1 cup sour cream 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
Beat together margarine, sugar, eggs, sour cream and vanilla. Sift flour, salt, baking powder and salt and add to wet mixture. Put half of batter in 9x13 pan.
Mix:
1/4 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup slivered walnuts (optional)
2 Tbsp cinnamon
Put 2/3 mixture over batter in pan. Score with knife. Pour rest of white batter over and add remaining mixture over top. Score again. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-50 minutes. Drizzle vanilla icing over and decorate with chopped walnuts and half cherries.
