Cakes, Pies and Desserts

MRS. LEUF'S CHOCOLATE CAKE 
Elaine Kowpak, Harris, SK

2 cups sugar 2/3 cup cocoa
2/3 cup oil 2 tsp baking powder
2 eggs 1 tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla 2 tsp soda
2 2/3 cups flour 2 cups boiling water
Beat sugar, oil, eggs and vanilla for 4 minutes. Sift dry ingredients together. Add alternately with boiling water, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Beat well after each addition. Pour into greased and floured 9x13 pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 50 minutes.
