Salads and Side Dishes

NAPA CABBAGE SALAD

1 head Napa cabbage 1/4 cup slivered almonds
1 medium red onion 3 tbsp. sesame seeds
3 pkg. Ramen noodles (any flavour) 1/4 cup butter or margarine or oil
Cut cabbage lengthwise and then across into small pieces. Don't use butt of cabbage. Dice onion finely. Mix in covered container. Chill.
Break noodles into small pieces. Brown all three ingredients (noodles, almonds and sesame seeds) in oil, margarine or butter. (Can brown them on a cookie sheet in a 350( oven) Cool and put in a covered container. Chill.
 Dressing:
1 cup oil
1/2 cup vinegar
1 cup sugar (or 2/3 cup)  3 tsp. soy sauce
Shake together in covered container and chill. When ready to eat, mix contents of three containers. (Don't need quite as much dressing as the recipe calls for.)
